1.4.6 Connection timeout occurred WRT54G v.3.0

Hi All,

We need some help in regards to WRT54G v.3.0 that has 1.4.6 (gargoyle_1.4.6-wrt54g-squashfs.bin) getting "Connection timeout occurred".

We did adjust the DHCP Lease Time from 12 to 24 to 8760 and it keeps booting all the wifi users and need to reboot after a day or a few days.

We're a bit clueless now and we've been searching the forum for any solutions but did not find anything. If we need to downgrade to a more stable version we will do that as long it doesn't boot out the users intermittently.

Thanks again!

Merrill

ok what we've found out for the past 3 weeks now that 1.4.6 is more stable than 1.5.7 & 1.4.7.. but we're getting a connection timeout so based on the other post in this forum that it stems to the upgraded driver for the broadcom chipset. We did try the fix below but didn't work on us.

iw dev wlan0 set bitrates legacy-2.4 6 9 12 18 24 36 48 54

We're back to scratch and see if we can try lower version of Gargoyle 1.3.6 perhaps?

Try Gargoyle 1.2.5

Then try 1.3.9

1.3.0 - 1.3.9 are using the Broadcom 2.4 drivers.

1.3.10 and up use the Broadcom 2.6 drivers

Thanks DoesItMatter!

Also we tried the TP-Link WR1043ND with v. 1.5.8 works well we even put a 128MB of USB ThumbDrive for Linux Swap :D

So, far it's working well.
We'll report back once we've tested it for 1 week.

Thanks DoesItMatter!

We've downgrade to 1.3.9 and it's stable so far.
