TP-Link TL-WR841ND cannot see network devices

I tried to connect tp-link (gargoyle and openwrt) to the main router (stock firmware) using either WDS and client bridge, in both cases all the devices connected directly (lan or wirelss) to the the main router can see each other including NAS. But all devices connected to the tp-link cannot see each other or any other devices connected to the main router.

So I know it has to do with tp-link and openwrt/gargoyle. Does anyone know how to fix this? I can still access the internet and the only way to access other devices is if I know the ip address and manually enter them, or map them.

I found out it is the tp-link router with openwrt/gargoyle. Once I unplugged it from the network, I can see EVERY devices again. :(
Very disappointing. Now I have to revert back to tp-link stock firmware.

Sounds like this is due to IP address/subnet issue.
What are the IP addresses of the devices connected in the different configurations?

I noticed the only way to see them all, i.e. having multicast working properly is they MUST be on the same IP address range, e.g. 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255. If you have one device on 192.168.1.5 and the other on 192.168.0.5, multicast can't pass through, i.e. you can't see them. Even if firewall is not the problem there.
