Dynamic DNS password non-alphanumeric limitations

Trying out 1.0.10 on wrt54g last night and I found that I could not use the OpenDNS services. Each time the connection was refused and the entry removed. Lots of slow typing, as well as cut'n'paste and I was baffled. An entry for dyndns.org worked fine.
I then noticed that I had an @ in the password, changed my password for OpenDNS to just alpha-numeric, set it into gargoyle (again!) and everything worked perfectly.
Does gargoyle do some processing of the password fields? Should it?
