MAC address limiting

Hell all first post!

I just flashed my WNDR3800 Netgear. I have to say the Gargoyle has a great look and feel and i still have a lot to work out and tinker with, but its very nice!

So i have the router at a rental property and it is shared by 4 students, there are a few things i still need to work out so a bit of help here would be appreciated.

1) I want to limit wireless access dependent on MAC address and cant find that area yet, where do I do this?

2) I have assigned IP addresses based on MAC address, this seems to work fine, but I want to tailor bandwidth for each IP address and where do I do that?

3) Also I have noticed that in the help documentation there are parts missing like the DHCP and static IP setup. Forgive my ignorance, but as a software engineer, I normally deliver a full blown OM with the software, so i'm new to this idea of software first, help Doc later, any more help on this area?

4) Is there a PDF version of the help DOC so i don't need to connect to the site every time i need to consult the Doc?

Thanks for comments! :D

On the Connections->DHCP screen you can enter the MAC addresses and force them into known IP addresses. You can prevent the device from connecting from a different IP address by ticking the box there.

Now each computer is locked to an IP address and you can use that IP address in the Quota and QoS screens to control the bandwidth as you like.

Regarding the documentation, we have our Wiki which I hope you have read but since you have the experience of writing such it would be great if you could contribute in that department.

pbix, thanks for that, I will check it out!

I also noticed that when I select a client from the DHCP list that some dont have a name attached. Can I put in any name here? I assume it is relying on the MAC address for the association and not the optional host name?

Thanxs
