Cannot access/reset TP-link WR741ND (V2.4)

Was working great as a wireless repeater - then power cycled to move it, and when it came up, I could no longer access the router.
On a reboot, the configuration LED blinks for about 30 seconds, then solid. The LED for used LAN port is on, but I get no reaction from when pressing/holding the reset.
The PC does not register any response unless I manually configure the PC's IP to the 192.168.1.X - at which point WIN7 detects the network as "Gargooyle". But still no response.
If I hold the reset button during power up, and let go when the config LED first starts to blink, it goes into a rapid blink - but still can't get any response.
Is this thing borked?
