I have an Alix 2D2 board with Gargoyle 1.5.5. I try to restore default config using the web UI and my settings are always kept. I also tried to re-install the image without the "preserve settings" option enabled: no success.

So how can I reset to factory the device, without having to re-flash my CF?

Telnet into your Alix

Type this command:

firstboot

Then let the router reboot and see if it resets to defaults

If it does not - re-flash the firmware
