Router: Linksys WRT160N v1

After much work, I was successful installing Gargoyle on top of openWRT. I had to make use of PuTTY to load the trx (http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download ... uashfs.trx), as well as load the wireless driver (kmod-b43, via http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/wireless.essentials) and modify /etc/config/wireless to define the config for 'wifi-device' (http://gargoylerouter.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=981).

I am able to connect to the router via LAN. Unfortunately, I have not been successful at enabling the WLAN. The SSID is set to broadcast, and wireless devices are beside the router.

I would really appreciate some direction as to how to troubleshoot/resolve this.

Thanks.

You should be able to use the WRT150N on the WRT160N v1/v1.1

However, according to the OpenWRT wiki (which may be out dated)
You should be sticking with the broadcom 2.4 driver set

The last version using that was 1.3.9

1.3.10 and up use the newer broadcom 2.6 driver set which may
not support the older wireless hardware correctly.

You can try flashing 1.3.9 and if that works, then go ahead and
try flashing 1.3.10 to test if that works out.

If anyone still cares, this should be fixed in OpenWRT trunk:

https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/31695/trunk

I believe one could load the brand new wrt610n v1 firmware image from the nightly trunk build and have a working OpenWRT installation and working b43 wifi.

https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/31696/trunk
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/brcm47xx/

This won't work with Gargoyle yet though, but one could at least use the Luci web interface in the meantime.
