Scanning command

Hello!
I was wondering what command Gargoyle used when scanning for viable networks for WDS. This question was raised as I couldn't come to terms to what router it chooses to connection to if you have one big SSID with multiple hosts. Say i see this giant network, but i also see 10 routers broadcasting this network, if I in the gargoyle list of viable AP's pick one of these routers, will it stick to that one? Even after reboot, or will it pick the one with best link qualities/strongest signal? And if so, where is all this specified?
