Hi,

i'm Max from Germany. I have a problem.

I have installed Gargoyle 1.5.2 on my TP-Link TL-WR1043ND sucessfully and it will work fine.

Today, i want to connect my 1043 with my Easybox 602 from Vodafone via WLAN.

I've done this settings:

on my 1043.

When i unplug the WAN Cable and i try to connect to 'funky_2' it will work, because I can go on the Webinterface from the Easybox, while i connected with the 1043. But, when i will visit google.com or something else, it isn't working.

Does any body knows, why this is so, and how i can fix it?

I'd suspect the dns servers I guess. What dns server does the TL-WR1043nd assign to dhcp clients that connect to it? The configuration you are currently using is also double nat, and is bound to cause problems.

that sounds similar to my problem (when I used the static IP since using DHCP did't work).

See also my topic DHCP doesn't work for a working configuration.

You have to set your main router as a custom DNS server. That will temporarily fix the problem.

yes, i've read that yesterday. Also when I set the custom DNS to 192.168.2.1 it will not work.

Yes, often DHCP will not work correctly, only when i use Static IP i can access my other router via 192.168.2.1 but not the internet.

ja, das hatte ich gestern auch schon gelesen, deswegen hatte ich das auch gleich mit der DNS Adresse versucht.
Aber da der Router bei DHCP keine IP Adresse von der Easybox bekommt, (obwohl ich sofort von ihr eine IP bekomme, wenn ich mich mit dem Laptop einwähle...) muss ich irgendwie Static IP nehmen, was auch teilweise funktioniert...
Ich kann auf das Webinterface von der Easybox zugreifen, kann aber nicht ins Internet.

To keep the ongoing discussion understandable, here the translation of my message below:

That was exactly one of the issues I had. Now there are two possibilities how it occured and how I fixed it.

• As already mentioned, perhaps the DNS servers are set wrong.
• The notebook doesn't get an IP address from the gargoyle router (and sets a default IP as 169.254.x.y).

How does your notebook connect to the router (LAN or WLAN)? What operating system are you using?
Maybe I can help you with this issue.

Das gleiche Problem hatte ich auch. Es gibt nun zwei Möglichkeiten, wie das Problem bei mir zustande kam.

• Der DNS Server auf dem Laptop ist nicht richtig gesetzt.
• Der Laptop bekommt keine IP-Adresse von dem Gargoyle Router (und setzt sich eine Standard IP im Bereich 169.254.x.y).

Wie ist der Laptop denn an dem Gargoyle Router angeschlossen? Und welches Betriebssystem läuft darauf?
Eventuell kann ich dir dann sagen, was du tun musst.

I think, the first point you've written is correct. I will test it tomorrow with the manually setting.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimativ 32bit and i'm connect my laptop with my router via wlan.

ich glaube, dass das erste, was du meint hast richtig ist, da ich, wenn die die 16xxx IP Adresse bekommen hätte ja auch nicht auf die Easybox zugreifen könnte.

Ich werde es morgen mal mit der manuellen DNS Einstellung an meinem Laptop versuchen und schauen ob es dann geht *ich hoffe es*.

Ich habe Win7 Ultimative 32bit und verbinde mich via WLAN, da mir LAN am Repeater nicht wichtig ist

jetzt funktioniert es endlich

Ich musste einfach nur die 192.168.2.1 DNS meinem PC bekannt geben und jetzt funktioniert es (siehe Bild 2 - Laptop)

Vielen Dank an David (dsimboss) auch aus Deutschland, der mir bei dem ganzen geholfen hatte und auch sofort die richtige Lösung hatte.

So, jetzt kann ich endlich im Garten surfen, weil ich jetzt kein LAN Kabel zum 1043ND brauche!

Perhaps, if you activate the 'force clients to use router's dns servers' option, it will work without any client modifications.
But I cannot assure it.

Eventuell funktioniert es auch ohne Änderungen am Client, wenn du 'force clients to use router's dns servers' aktivierst.
Versprechen kann ich es aber nicht.
