Delivery cost - $48??

Hi,
I am looking into purchasing a gargoyle router. I went to checkout, and it came up with a delivery charge of $48. I live in New Zealand, but I don't see how it would cost so much to send a package of that size. I have sent larger and heavier items to Canada for about USD $15 in the past.
Is this an error, or is it truly that expensive?

Unfortunately it really is that expensive.
The problem here is that in order for the shipment to be secure I need delivery confirmation, and the only international option that the US Post office offers that allows that is the International Express Mail option, which is really expensive. Without delivery confirmation, if there is a problem there is no way for anyone to know exactly what happened. I've looked into UPS/FedEx international options but that's even more.
So... yeah. I really don't know what else to do for international orders. I really am sorry, and believe me I REALLY wish there were a better way.

Hey, don't apologise, not your fault mate!
If I ordered more, would the price be the same per unit, or would shipping get cheaper the more I ordered?

The obvious alternative is buy a router in Nz and flash it with Gargoyle, the money then unfortunately doesn't go to Eric - though a donation could do that
My own preference is the Netgear 3700 v2 which can be flashed by the routers own firmware so you pick the appropriate file and flash within the netgear web interface. But any of the Atheros AR71XX routers can be flashed within the routers own web interface using the factory image

Ok thanks for that.
I was looking at buying routers, and selling them with a setup fee to configure them for someones network, with custom quota management etc...
Are there particular Atheros and Broadcom chipsets that will run Gargoyle, or any?
If I do get this plan up and running, I will definitely make a donation for each one I sell.

Sorry, just answered my own question by looking at the documentation section.

Yes I believe so

Is the best place to look, my concern on the TP would be the small amount of flash ram but it's outside of my experience in terms of how this would then perform. What line speed do you have?
But check that list as it gives the specs for the routers and the intro also gives a small introduction regarding ram and flash ram requirements

Given what you want to do ordering locally might be easier, but to answer your original question: the shipping cost per router does go way down if you order multiple routers.

Re the flash drive aspect, how much impact does that have on the install. Are the TP's fine for Gargoyle with standard <20MB adsl?
