Hello,

I plan to buy a router to use Gargoyle.
The new WR842ND seems interesting, with 32 MB of RAM and 8 MB of flash. And a low price tag.
It is supported by the trunk version of OpenWrt, there's snapshots for it.

Is it a good choice or is the WR1043ND really better?
It has Gigabit ethernet (not needed for Internet access), but what else more than the WR842ND?

Then, to install Gargoyle, what's the best way to do it:
- Install the snapshot (squashfs or is jfss2 necessary?) + Gargoyle packages
or
- Download Gargoyle source code, try to merge it with the latest trunk version of OpenWrt and compile it?

You should purchase a router supported by the Backfire branch of OpenWRT. Building Gargoyle on the trunk will be a difficult task.

Thanks for the info!

I may end up buying the WR1043ND then. It's just 12 € more.
