Did you also have this problem?

After unmounting the flash drive, I am able to make a format...
But when pressing "Format Now", it tells me that the password is invalid.
Password error, when doing a format.

I will try to have a look at the sourcecode.

EDIT: It looks like it wants to get a confirmation of the password, but never asks (at least not on firefox), so that is the problem.

PS: It is also not working in IE 9, but here it does not tell any error.

Okay, strange.

This is on Firefox 12.0a1 and IE9.
Can you try to verify if it is working on IE for you?

I will test on Firefox 10 on another machine.

On Firefox 10, it is working fine here.
And the format process is working fine.
I did a reboot of the router, just to test and it is still mounting the flashdrive fine.
I have to say that I did not setup a SWAP partition.

Now I get the password window in Firefox 12.0a1...
and the format is also working fine.
Did this time choose a swap partition, just to make sure that it did work.
So it looks like it is working in Firefox, but it is not totally stable.

But remember that you may need to reboot the router sometimes, as there is no guarantee that the auto mount is working after the format.
