Need FON Flash Help

Gents,

I have one of the MR3201A pocket routers that Eric sent me some time ago. I Iove this router and travel with it often.

So during my developments I seem to have locked it up so I am trying to use the FON flash utility to reload it. I have done this before and had success but its been awhile and maybe I forgot something.

Anyway what IP address am I suppose to be giving my computer. Below is my FON flash screen.

I press the button and then power up the router. I get a few gratuitous ARPs out of it (observed in wireshark) and then nothing.

What I am doing wrong or is my router toast?

I think you need WinPCap installed as well for Windows

I'm almost certain Fon Flash won't work on Windows Vista / 7
without a network switch between the router and ethernet port

That upgraded TCP/IP stack on Vista/7 always messes with timing
for tftp flashing - its horrid

XP always worked for me with Fon Flash - when I had a FON.

I think you can set your computer IP to 192.168.0.2 and no gateway

Sorry, been a while since I had an AR231X device myself.

In the above post I was using WinXP with a WinPCap 4.1.2 installed and a hub inserted between the computer and the router. I also had manually coded the port for 192.168.0.2 with no gateway.

After running all the night the screen did no change from what I posted above.

Doesn't sound like anyone has any ideas. I hope I can talk Eric into sending be a replacement for this one.

On error check

* Crossover cable or hub/switch
* 5 second delay between "Hit the Start button" and "Power on the AP51 router"
* Correct Firmware type
* Correct Network interface is selected
* Correct Firmware
* Make sure you have the lastest version of WinPcap
* Check the download is not corrupt by using WinMd5sum
