Hi folks

I am running Gargoyle 1.45 on a Netgear WNDR3700v2, after previously running dd-wrt on it. I have been impressed with everything so far but hit a snag when installing OpenVPN on the device.

Basically I have put my server configuration on and have set up the bridging. However it seems that whenever a client connects, the router itself will reboot.

Upon removing the tap0 interface from the bridge, I found that clients could remain connected, the router remain running, until I tried to pass data over the link. (ie: the client tries to access the routers web interface over the vpn)

I noticed that others had reported similar issues with both Gargoyle and OpenWRT.

It would seem that it is an issue with incompatibility between kmod-tun and the kernel, often arising from people compiling their own builds from snapshots.

So I am basically wondering if anyone running on the WNDR3700v2 (or other device) has a working OpenVPN server running in bridged mode with either Gargoyle 1.45 or 1.52? (Though if you have this running on a different version of Gargoyle I would love to know too)

Edit: I have also tried running with 1.52 and found the same behaviour.

Yea it seemed the issue was to do with using custom builds of OpenWRT (snapshot builds, etc) so I'm guessing Gargoyle falls into this category.

I have since just used OpenWRT instead and it resolved the issue.
