Built against pre 11.04
What I'm wondering is if this has something to do with the platform on which OpenWRT/Gargoyle is built. In 1.5.1 users were reporting a problem with installing packages -- trying to do so would crash the router. I found a workaround in 1.5.2 but I never figured out exactly why the router was bombing out like that. I recently came across a discussion on the openwrt-dev mailing list, that suggested the problem might be because I built with Ubuntu 11.10 (which is what I use, well Xubuntu 11.10, which is pretty much the same). The developer positing on the list had found that building with 11.10 caused this error, while 11.04 did not.

Testing this 12.04 version now!

Upgraded from OpenWRT 10.03.1 - but fresh config!

Wireless connect to AP

LAN connections via wired DHCP

Will verify wireless stability by the weekend.

The wireless on this build seems to be much more stable
than on 1.4.5 / 1.5.2 but I need to keep it online until the weekend.

I want to verify before upgrading to the 1/31 build you had also
posted, but if I flash that, negates any uptime testing I would do.

Seems like the builds on the 12.04 Ubuntu are working better?
Or is it also some extra wireless fixes? a combo of both of these?

I was working with Gargoyle 1.5.X (Built 20120109-1725 git@2358a5a) for 22 days without any problem.
Today i upgraded to 1.5.X (Built 20120130-0339 git@6c084a4).
First release wher ei do not see any errors in logread!.
The memory usage looks soooo nice, like 10.8MB / 28.8MB (37.6%) right now, the maximum i saw was 11.2MB which is still very nice, less than 50%! :)

Will inform about anything i will find :)

After 6 days of uptime without any problems i changed from 20MHz to 40MHz (chan 10 and 6 choosed automatically) and will see the results. I do not use any USB device so for me still no problems so far.

I was too fast. Just checked my logread and

Code: Select all

Feb 8 10:45:05 berlin daemon.warn dnsmasq-dhcp[2042]: DHCP packet received on eth0.2 which has no address
But i know this problem (from many past versions) so i know how to fix it by myself. Strange this didn;t appear when i had 20MHz.
