not giving name magicjack to the dhcp lease of 192.168.1.202 because the name exists in /etc/hosts with address 192.168.1.200
not giving name magicjack.lan to the dhcp lease of 192.168.1.202 because the name exists in /etc/hosts with address 192.168.1.200

/etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost.
192.168.1.1 Gargoyle
192.168.1.100 Culex-PC
192.168.1.120 Ziander-PC
192.168.1.105 Wii
192.168.1.101 Matts-Laptop
192.168.1.103 Matts-Kindle
192.168.1.202 MagicJack
192.168.1.140 Dad-PC
192.168.1.121 Mosins-iPhone
192.168.1.150 GARAGE-PC

what the heck? It used to exist, but I removed it from /etc/hosts and have rebooted long since. Its not even listed in /etc/ethers.

root@Gargoyle:/etc# ping magicjack
PING magicjack (192.168.1.202): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.202: seq=0 ttl=255 time=8.322 ms

root@Gargoyle:/etc# ping magicjack.lan

Are you sure another machine hasn't picked up "magicjack"?

Nothing sits on 192.168.1.200. Even if that were the case which it isn't that would mean the message would be in error. I havent changed anything and it looks like the messages have disappeared.

My only suggestion is to reset the router to the default and reconfigure (don't use a backup to recover the config)

I you can repeat the error after that I would suggest Eric may look more closely at this fault.
