1.5.1 Port Forwarding

Wndr3700v2 on 1.5.1

I've been trying to test port forwarding. It seems a bit odd. Ports that I don't forward seem to be open and working. Upnp is disabled by default and hasn't been touched. Utorrent see's its ports open without it being setup.

The problem lies in my vent server, which has worked flawlessly before. I host on port 3784. I can connect to it through my local ip. I cannot connect by pointing at the router ip or my wan ip. This suggests that the vent server is running but that the problem is in the router and port forwarding.

Can anyone shed some light as to what is going on? Much appreciated.

Port forwarding does work properly.

I was doing http forwarding and other port foward testing.

No issues here, but my setup is purely for testing, nothing advanced.

I also have UPNP disabled - no need for it.

If you are having issues, try this:

1) backup config
2) reset router to defaults
3) config from scratch - don't load old config
4) make sure no firewalls / port blockers on any PC's
5) add some basic port forwards and retest

Do you think this is the problem?

No. Both previous and current configuration were done from scratch. It must of been something else. In current configuration, I only changed wireless settings and port forwarding. In previous configuration, I changed a few things like web usage monitor, connection limits, etc.

I'll just leave it with simple settings for now as everything is in working order. Cheers.
