Hi,

I am wondering whether quota data is persistent between reboots - one day kids may learn that unplugging the router and plugging it again will reset the quota for that day.

Does somebody know the answer to my question ?

It it mostly persistent, the data is saved on a periodic basis. Not sure what the frequency was, but a reboot loses at most a couple hours of bandwidth data.
