re-flash your router (settings lost)

I hope it is not possiable to access your setting with a lost password

I am not sure if it is going to work, but try...
Boot into failsafe - http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe ... connect to the router via ssh... run the two commands:
/sbin/mount_root
passwd

I've just done a test using a RouterStaion Pro using Gargoyle 1.5.0 and can confirm that "fail safe" method works

Very cool indeed

You still need physical access to the router so I guess its not so bad

A factory reset would also be a nice feature

When you get into failsafe... run:
/sbin/firstboot
