Full storage warning with v1.14.0 on Netgear WNDR3700 v1

Hello Community,

I upgraded my netgear wndr3700 v1 router with was initially in v1.6.0 to v1.8.1, which worked perfectly fine.
Then I upgraded from v1.8.1 directly to v1.14.0 (skipping intermediate versions) and I am facing a full storage warning message appearing in the GUI.
I tried to restore default configuration, but the message is still present.

I wanted to attach a screenshot (77.7Kb) to show the issue, but the forum chat rejected with the next status: «Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.»

FYI, I can connect via SSH.

Thank you in advance for your support,

Hi Lantis,

Thanx for your swift reply.
Here is the output:

Code: Select all

root@Gargoyle:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 6.0M 6.0M 0 100% /rom
tmpfs 28.5M 72.0K 28.4M 0% /tmp
tmpfs 28.5M 120.0K 28.4M 0% /tmp/root
overlayfs:/tmp/root 28.5M 120.0K 28.4M 0% /
tmpfs 512.0K 0 512.0K 0% /dev
BTW, I wanted to downgrade to the previous firmware v1.10.0, but now I get the following message
Firmware has been detected as incompatible with this device (wrong device OR too big OR invalid firmware format). Forcing firmware upgrade can result in a bricked device if used incorrectly. Please ensure this firmware is correct for your device
Not clear to me which image I should use (sysupgrade.bin or .img) to downgrade. Should I specify the MD5 checksum in the optional field?

Looks like the message is correct, not enough free flash storage resulting in RAM being mounted as the filesystem.

Before we try going backwards, could you try going forwards? You should get a little bit of space back.

This isn’t the latest available but it’s a good start.

If you really want to go backwards
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/ins ... x.to.ath79
It is not documented, but if you have downloaded the right image and you’re sure, you should be able to force the upgrade without saving settings. It is not recommended however.
