What is special about the "ipvskmod" builds for the ramips target?

Hi,
A while ago I installed the stable 1.14.0 build on my D-Link DIR-882 A1 and it ran really well.
Curiosity lead me to trying out the latest development build for this router model. (from the 1.15.x_ramipsipvskmod_20241212 folder)
Of course I did not try to retain the configuration settings from the previous 1.14.0 version and as recommended started the configuration from scratch. But right from the first moment the router felt sluggish and unresponsive with 1.15.x_ramipsipvskmod.
Changing some settings or installing plugins caused the router to not respond for 1 to 2 minutes and Windows even showed the Ethernet connection as disconnected, like if the router rebooted every time.
After I finally setup everything the way I need it I noticed that the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network had disappeared. Changing some Wi-Fi related setting caused the signal to come back (probably because a service was restarted), but a few hours later I noticed the 5 GHz network was gone again.
So I decided to try the 1.15.x_20241113 build, hoping for the best. It has turned out that this build works fine (apart from one issue for which I will open another thread later). In fact, during use I don't notice any difference between the stable 1.14.0 build and the 1.15.x_20241113 build.
