Hello,

I've searched in the forum but I can't find what's the difference between these builds:
gargoyle_1.14.0-ath79-nand-netgear_wndr4300-squashfs-factory.img
gargoyle_1.14.0-ath79-nand-netgear_wndr4300sw-squashfs-factory.img
gargoyle_1.14.0-ath79-nand-netgear_wndr4300tn-squashfs-factory.img

what do these letters mean please ?

You should check the OpenWrt device page for your device.

SW = SureWest, a hardware variant distributed by a Californian ISP
TN = Telenet, a hardware variant distributed by a Belgian ISP

It is most likely you have the generic variant.

By the way, you should really load the 1.15.x version instead.

Hello Lantis,
I would just like to know if the latest beta of the v1.15 is stable enough for an everyday use ? That's for the main router of my home.

Thanks in advance

I can’t give you any guarantees of course, but I’ve had a number of users test and are happy. I think it’s a good candidate!

I’ve been running it as my main router for 12 months and I work from home so I need stability. Just a personal anecdote.

It seems to work until now, but Gargoyle can't refresh the list of plugins with my WNDR4300. I've read your warning about the fact that Gargoyle still uses iptables, but do I need to add a new repository for it to work ?

In the latest 1.15 (if that is what you installed) it is now using nftables. If you installed the one linked in this thread then yes it is still using iptables. Not that it matters here.

If you are running one of my betas you must add the appropriate plugin repositories, it is not automatic.

This is explained in the thread and on the page you downloaded it from.

I'm really sorry Lantis, I've downloaded the firmware several months ago, and I didn't remember there were plugin repositories at the same place  ...
Do we need to enter: default, default_kernelspecific, nand & nand_kernelspecific ? Or juste the last 2 ?
Because when I'm entering the 4 repositories I see only size differencies (between the 2xdefault and the 2xnand) for:
-Diagnostics (crash dumps, ping, traceroute, nslookup) for Gargoyle
-PPTP Support for Gargoyle
-Tor Anonymizer Support for Gargoyle
-Universal Plug and Play Support for Gargoyle

and based of what Gargoyle was using before, the nand group seems to be the only one necessary, I'm wrong ?

Just the 2x nand repos are all you need :)
