Clone mac adres doesn't save on 1.14

Hi,

I flashed my good old archer c7 with gargoyle 1.14.

I need to clone the wan mac adres so i can use this router as a gateway on public wifi networks. (i connect with my phone to public wifi, login on the public wifi portal so i have internet, disconnect the phone and then let the router connect to the public wifi (the router with same mac adres as my phone takes over)

I did this for years with my old wr1043nd v1 with gargoyle 1.8 on it and it worked perfect.

However when i clone the mac adres on the archer c7 with gargoyle 1.14, it doesn't save, the "clone mac adres" setting stayes unchecked and the adres field stays empty.
But, for a moment i do see the mac adres i set it to on the info page, but it reverses to the original mac adres after a minut or so.

I still have the old 1043 with gargoyle 1.8, so for now i have public internet, but ofcourse no wireguard.

Thanks

Perhaps you could test whether you have the same issue with the current 1.15.x beta as that's where development effort is going?

BTW: which hardware version is your C7?

Likely due to the network config changes. Did you do a clean install or try to keep settings?
There is some code to try and figure out if you have a wan_dev or not.

I agree it would be better to test on 1.15 if willing. Otherwise let’s look at your network config.

My c7 v2 was originally a c5 v1.2 flashed to a c7 v2. (internal the c5 v1.2 and the c7 v2 share the same hardware)

Good idea, will try the 1.15, can also test the 1.13.

No, didn't perserve settings, upgraded the c7 from 1.10, to 1.12 to 1.14 without preserving settings. Also did a "reset to default" before giving this router his new life.
