BPI-R3 Support?

Post by Statik »

Hi all,
Well, my archer C7 is starting to get flaky. Been running gargoyle on it for many years and it is starting to just drop wifi, stop working, stop granting IPs, etc. So, I'm looking for a new router with plenty of horsepower for my busy household and at least 2 USB ports for media sharing.
I have found the BPI-R3 is supported by OpenWRT and seems to be fairly beefy compared to the older C7 but there isn't any official gargoyle image.
Has anyone used gargoyle on this router? How is it working?

Support for that router was only added relatively recently to OpenWrt and has not made it into any official releases.
Gargoyle is currently developing towards the 22.03 branch.

I expect this device would become available in the 23.04 branch, and Gargoyle support would lag that.
