However, according to top the usbmuxd daemon is taking 50% CPU time (with a load of 1) although I haven't attached anything to the USB port! Is this normal?
Seems it's an issue for OpenWrt builds too - discussed here.

Wndr3700v1 sysupgrade is buggy, tried to restore but still telling me i need to restore it, ”img” gives me bootloop, wdr3600 is not pingable after this newest update, broken builds..
Edit: wnr2200 also broken, not pingable and cant acces gui, wasted 30 min of nothing

Can you provide more detail about all 3? What was the flashing method?
There wasn’t that much change between the initial unreachable webGUI build and this one that I’d expect that much of a regression.

For what it’s worth, I flashed it to a wndr3800 which is a similar vintage and it was fine. I also recompiled it down to the same package set as the wdr3600 and that was also fine.
I’m not saying it’s your fault, just trying to gather data. It would be good to hear from another user with the same devices. I think @ispyisail had a wdr3600 some time ago

If I can find it.

I was using it xmas time but found it's just so underpowered that I gave up.

Custom QOS settings for speed throttling just killed it.

I'm recompiling all images with a fix for CPU usage due to usbmuxd. Expect it to be done in about 2 hours.

If you could that would be great. It just has to flash and get to the webui, after that i accept that it is slow. Broken images are not what i want to release though :(

Just to clarify:
- when installing the sysupgrade images did you try to preserve the existing configuration or not?
- what method did you use to install the factory (".img") image on the wndr3700v1?
