Moving house - need configuration help

Hi,

I currently have a WRT54GL with Gargoyle on it, connected to a Thomson ADSL modem via the WAN port.

I am moving to a new house, and I won't be able to plug directly into the modem. I will only have WiFi connection to the existing router in the house, but I want to run my own wired LAN. What will be the best way to do this? Am I able to configure my existing router to use WiFi as the WAN connection, or will I need another WiFi router to use as the WAN connection?

You can use de Wireless Bridge mode of gargoyle.
This way you get internet to your wired network.

Hi, thanks for that. I got it working ok. One thing that has disappeared are all my quota settings, and bandwidth tracking. Is that not available under this setting?

From what I understand Gargoyle needs to be the router to monitor bandwidth.

It needs to route the LAN to WAN traffic and WAN to LAN traffic to be able to measure it and apply quotas.

In bridge mode, it can't do this and your modem to the net is doing this job. It's ideal if the modem is set to bridge mode and Gargoyle is set to router mode.

Can someone correct me if this is way off.
