Unstable router caused by config changes

Hi all
I've known for many years that gargoyle is extremally stable when the configuration is never changed.
These days I adjust my kids internet usage regularly and it has created an unstable router (reset fixes)
What I now believe is happening is I make changes and leave the browser tab open, could even be for days?
Gargoyle auto logs out but the browser page is still open. I have no idea that the router is logged out. I then try to make changes but its fails until I log back in.
I believe in the failed attempt sends some information but not all which can cause corruption?
This is my hypotheses.......
