Can't access/login to configuration via web interface.

Hi folks,
I am currently unable to access the Gargoyle configuration settings via the web interface.
Specifically the login page takes a long time to load (if at all) and then it doesn't load completely but gives a "Please Wait While Settings Are Applied" message, a spinning whirly-ding, and a few misplaced text boxes exactly as described here: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... ?f=6&t=767
I have tried Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox - the result is the same in all. I tried clearing the cache in all three too and it didn't work.
I changed a setting in Gargoyle right before this happened but I don't remember what exactly
.
Any other suggestions or advice?
Is my only option a reinstall of Gargoyle?
To be honest I had someone else flash my router with Gargoyle because I didn't want to brick it and although I just figured out how to access the router/Gargoyle through Putty I'm not sure how to do the rest of what is needed according to the install instructions
.
My router is a WZR R5 G54 so I'm not sure 100% which install instructions apply either.
Damian.
