opk error - 404/Not Found

Hello,

I have a tp-link 1043nd with latest gargoyle-router firmware.

I was trying to install openvpn and nocatsplash on my router, but opkg is giving me an 404 error.

Code: Select all

# opkg update
Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1-rc5/ar71xx/packages/Packages.gz.
wget: server returned error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
Collected errors:
 * opkg_download: Failed to download http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1-rc5/ar71xx/packages/Packages.gz, wget returned 1.

I tried to open http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/ and couldn't find the 10.03.1-rc5 over there.

Should I use the packages from 10.03.1-rc4 instead?
Any other suggestions?

I made a search in gargoyle's forums, and found other topics about this issue, but couldn't find a solution for this.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, rc5 is not available at openwrt respositiories yet, you should use rc4 for now, but remember that kernel modules will not work (different kernel versions), but it is ok for apps.

Thanks for the info doritos, I know that this isn't part of gargoyle-router, but any idea of when the rc5 repo will be up? or why it's not available?

thank you

These repositories are maintained by the OpenWrt team, we have no control over it.
