One router that definitely has a SIM card reader inside is the Turris Omnia (but you need to buy an mPCIe LTE modem for it).
https://www.turris.com/en/omnia/specifications/

I own this model, but I have never used a SIM card in the router and I have such a hunch that the SIM card will only work with OEM Firmware (Turris OS).

The main question is - and it pays off for such a router just because it has a SIM card inside, isn't it better to solve it via the USB port ???

Also the ZBT WG3526 seems to have a sim inside
https://openwrt.org/toh/zbt/zbt_wg3526#zbt_wg3526
and also the TP-LINK TL-MR6400, Archer M200, DWR-921 C1/C3 but i am not sure if it supports both gargoyle.
I found one list of Router with LTE support by openwrt
https://openwrt.org/toh/views/toh_lte_modem_supported
and also GL-X750 & GL-X750v2

I have a hunch that Gargoyle won't start with SIM and LTE Modem support due to driver and LTE hardware support (lack of FLASH memory and RAM).
You would need to compile your own Gargoyle build with driver support and find support for AT commands.
This step is really only for advanced users and as far as I know, no one before you has tried it and it was successful. Well, I wish you good luck and strong nerves ...
