Ssh password

If I try to ssh into the router it asks for a password. I assumed it would be the password I have set on the router, but that doesn't work. What should I be using?
Answering myself, I needed to ssh in as root... so I used:
ssh -l root 192.168.0.2
192.168.0.2 is my Gargoyle which I currently have running as a wireless bridge.
