Hi,

I've been using Gargoyle for several years and have never had any issues. However, since the past couple of weeks, I'm facing a peculiar problem.

I have a TPlink wdr4300 runnning gargyole 1.12 that's connected to an adsl modem on the Wan port. I randomly loose access to the wan port and can't even ping the router. The internet light remains on, on the router. I have changed the modem, ethernet cable as well tried with another wdr3400 router that I have, but the problem persists. I need to physically turn off & on the router several times for it to start working again and then randomly the problem will reoccur. I have tried setting a static IP too but that hasn't helped.

Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

I am noticing similar issues in my setup also. I am seeing periodic disconnect from the internet on my PC. PC connected to a switch connected to router linksys32x connect to fiber ONT. The ISP says no issues on their end.

Is there something that gargoyle can do to help diagnos/log the outages?

The router uptime is still there but it is not connected or sending packets to wan. Does gargoyle provide anything to track that?

I looked in conntrack and other areas to no avail.

:?: I ask if you use PPPoE?

I know there are problems with this protocol and it accidentally disconnects and no longer connects.

No ppoe. I was evaluating a fiber provider but it is disconnecting more than comcast. I wanted to get away from comcast but cannot.

Then again maybe the connection issues were down stream from gargoyle.
