WRT54G-TM WiFi bye-bye

I have been running version 1.3.7 of Gargoyle for quite a while and finally got the time to upgrade to the latest 1.3.13
The WiFi is not working. It is not being seen by any computers on my small home network. I even downgraded to 1.3.12 and the WiFi is not being seen. Is there something I could check or do, or did my WiFi just quit?
Thanks

See that first post on that page.

1.3.10 had a huge upgrade in the code.

Try 1.3.9 and see if it still works.

If it does, comment in the main 1.3.13 thread and let Eric know
you are having issues with 1.3.13 and WRT-54G-TM.

Just to verify, when you upgraded to 1.3.13, you re-configured
from scratch right? You did NOT reload an old config?

Because of the big code change, its better to reconfigure.
Try re-flash 1.3.13 once again, and do basic configuration and
try and setup your wireless and see if you can get any signal.

Thank you kindly for the reply.
I had luck by bringing it back to 1.3.9 :D
Since that worked I decided to go back up again to 1.3.12 since I had a bit of difficulty getting it to work in 1.3.13 and this is why..
True I did upload the configuration from 1.3.7 passed several upgrades.
By default i think that wifi is disabled & when I uploaded the backup config the wifi would not work which is now understandable.
In the past I was used to updating the firmware in closer revisions then loading the backup config.
I understand now that 1.3.10 was a rather large upgrade so backups from previous releases may not work properly.
Maybe this weekend I will try to up it to 1.3.13 & upload my new 1.3.12 backup
I am just happy that the wifi is working again!
Thank you for your input DoesItMatter !

Hi there
Well, here is the problem.
No matter what revision of Gargoyle I put on the router it always says 1.3.12
I even used Putty and ran the command to wipe out the config and tried the default config option in gargoyle before I tried to updated to 1.3.13
The wifi now works for a couple of hours, but then it disconnects.
Then router can not be reached unless I pull out the ac adapter and plug it back in.

Can I some how remove Gargoyle and reinstall 1.3.13 it?
thanks

Flash a mini build of DD-WRT on it.

You can flash back/forth between OpenWRT & DD-WRT on the
WRT54G units - just use the web GUI and choose the firmware.

Also - I'm pretty sure Eric had mentioned that you need to TFTP
the new builds from 1.3.10 and up on the WRT54G units.

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... f=3&t=1152

Read the first page of that thread.

There are methods of manually upgrading via the command line
via a telnet/ssh session through putty into the router.

Also - TFTP always works with those units as well.

If your WRT54G has 16MB of ram though, I would recommend
sticking with 1.3.9 or 1.2.5 - 1.3.10 and up really take some ram!
