can you describe your requirements in more detail
The ultimate in my opinion is to use ubnt unifi with Gargoyle.

I need want working with 8.1 cable rj45, i have wrt32x and has troubles with my zyxel GS1920-8... Switch.
Also wifi i don`t like so much the ac performance/range through 2 rooms
