setting up Gargoyle router with Viasat

I just got a new modem/wifi router combo from Viasat. When I plug my Gargoyle router into the modem, I can't access the internet from Gargoyle. Is there a configuration issue that I need to change? The Viasat router also has the IP address 192.168.1.1. How do I set up the Gargoyle router? The reason I want to do this is my TP link Gargoyle has a better range as well as better network controls. Thanks

The LAN and WAN must always be on a different subnet and in gateway mode (if you want Gargoyle to be the master with statistics and DHCP server).
The easiest way is to change the Gargoyle IP address and restart as here:

So if I change the router IP as below and hardwire it into the Viasat modem that should work? To access Gargoyle settings would be the same except typing the new IP address into my browser?

Access to the Viasat modem will be: http://192.168.1.1
Access to the Gargoyle router will be: http://192.168.2.1
Therefore, the computers in your network will have a subnet: 192.168.2.0/24

Yes. But only if you haven't assigned static addresses in Gargoyle (DHCP), as you would have to change all of those to match the new IP range. Therefore, I'd try and change the IP of the Viasat modem instead (also to 192.168.2.1).
