Hello,

I have router Archer C7 v2 with firmware 3.15.2 Build 170803 Rel.60806n and I’m considering switch to Gargoyle. I have some quick verification questions before I will proceed:

1. There is info on download page: WARNING 2: “Firmware v1.9.0 and earlier has been reported to brick certain models of Archer C7 v2 (Early 2016 and later)” Is this still actual with 1.12? Is it safe to install Gargoyle on my router?
2. Are there any know issues with 1.12 ? – couple years ago I had Gargoyle on some old router and I had a problem with Gigabit Ethernet so I want to be sure that all basic functionality like ethernet ports and wifi will work like on stock firmware?

1.12 is safe by all reports I've seen.
There was a specific change in hardware in 2016 which caused that problem.

Yes basic functionality should work ok.

Thanks for quick replay. I hope Ethernet will work with full gigabit speed.

My c7 v2 with gargoyle 1.10 already has full gigabit ethernet, i transfer files from and to nas with 112 megabytes a second.

(actually mine is a c5 v1.2 but with same hardware as the c7 v2 and i flashed it to a c7 v2)

Also on my second router ( tl link wr1043nd v2 wich is connected from lan to c7 lan) i connected a second backup nas, i can also transfer files to and from it with 112 megabytes a second from anywhere (doesn't matter on wich router i connect, it stays at full gigabit ethernet crossing from router to router.

i also could do this long agoo when i had the same setup but then with a wr1043nd v1 and a wr1043nd v2 and both where running gargoyle 1.8 so i missed this i guess?
