hi

hoping for some advise please

is it possible to use opendns and a vpn simultaneously (myself at least but possibly also Missus & maybe kids)?

if so please could you suggest any threads/docs etc I can study?

atm the setup is; optus cable broadband (though soon nbn hfc) > modem > gargoyle 1.10 on wndr3800 to access opendns (wan ip not fixed)/monitor use/allocate timed access per device > ethernet to linksys ea8500 (serving wifi to x4 kids-mostly surface4 without admin rights&iphone6), ethernet to switch (printers+fetch), ethernet bridge to apple airport extreme (my office ethernet+wifi)

thanks!
adrian

To clarify, which of the following scenarios are you trying to use VPN for:
- openvpn server: connect remotely and securely back to home
- openvpn client Gargoyle: connect to another Gargoyle router which is acting as an openvpn server
- openvpn client commercial: connect to a VPN provider

I assume you're talking number 3?
If so, Gargoyle doesn't officially support this Set up so you'll need to configure it manually (there's a guide for PIA which should work for most)
I don't see any reason why Opendns wouldn't work in this Set up, but I've not used it either.
