I think I've bricked it.

In an attempt to find a data leakage, I flashed my D-Link DIR-825 from 1.10 to 1.11.
All was well until I restored the previously saved settings.
Now everything appears to be working, wifi and network ports are active, and can be connected to, but I cannot login to the router.
Is it time for a new one?
If so, would a Linksys WRT1900ACS be a worthwhile upgrade?

Google "openwrt failsafe reset"
the next level after that is "serial cable"
you router can be recovered
having said that your router is getting old

Many thanks. I'll give it a go.
I assume when they say "press a button", they are talking about the reset button on the router?
If it works I'll be happy/sad.
Happy because it's resurrected, sad because I won't be getting a new one.

TFTP recovery is probably easier, but if you’re already connected via serial, when you see the “Autobooting in x seconds” message, quickly type “tpl” and press ENTER. This will halt the boot and put you at the unit command prompt where you can probably initiate a tftp flash.
This is all covered in detail in the wiki for your device.
