Gargoyle support for TP-Link Archer C2600 v1.x?

Hi,

see https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tp-link_archer_c2600_v1

Reports of Openwrt on this router are very positive.

Is there a Gargoyle release for this powerful router in the wind.

Not currently, but it is definitely something I’m interested in, given the performance and hardware, and there are also 2 others in the same family I want to support.

I don’t own any of these devices, so getting a community member to add the support would be the fastest way forward.

I'm prepared to attempt to add support for the C2600 but having looked at the Gargoyle and OpenWrt build systems I'm so far at a loss as to how the profile configuration would be built :? Any guidance available?

I have built OpenWrt 18.06 images for other devices, but only just about to start with the C2600...

We've discussed it a few times. Rather than go over it again, here's the last time i tried (maybe not the best explanation, so ask questions if you get stuck):

Thanks for those hints. I've managed to compile a target definition that produced images matching the list of OpenWrt 18.06.2 list of iqp806x generic images except for the 2 compex wpq864 images (due to a typo in profile_images ). I built from the 1.11.0 source rather than the latest git, and tried to make sure the configuration parallels the mvebu default profile (Linksys WRT series).

My C2600 v1.0 - running the original TP-Link 150924 firmware - accepted the factory image via the stock UI firmware upgrade function, reflashed then rebooted into Gargoyle without a hitch :o :D. Only lightly tested at this point so will see how things go.

Sounds promising.
When you are ready, please feel free to submit it via github.
Here’s an example of the type of scrutiny it will receive and common mistakes.

I've posted a thread linking to an archive of my experimental ipq806x target v1.11.0 build here to enable other interested parties to possibly test Gargoyle on some of these routers.

I'm not in a position to test most of the images generated and can't comprehensively test the C2600 images but so far so good.

The archive contains the target configuration files if someone wants to try their own build of a more recent git version of Gargoyle.

I doubt 50% of the official images have ever been tested so I don't think it will make much difference?

Greetings!

I bought a used TP-Link Archer C2600 v1 last week, and should get my hands on it in a few days. Hopefully now I can reach full WAN speed (~200/300Mbps) with QoS enabled? We'll see.

Does Gargoyle fully supports the Archer C2600 v1 nowadays, or does it needs any sort of "fine tuning" after flashing?

You can try version 1.13.x (the device is supported here): viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12896
