To update my router firmware it tells me I need a .chk file, but the update file is a .trx. What do I do?

What router do you have?
What version are you on?
What version are you trying to go to?

I have the Netgear WNDR3400v3.

The router is still on stock firmware. I'm trying to use the update option in the router's GUI to switch to Gargoyle. But it tells me I need a .chk file.

https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/netgear/ ... ndr3400_v3
Comments: While it is possible to load OpenWrt there is no support for wireless, USB not currently supported; USB fixed in master 5dd745588ed
Unlikely Gargoyle will ever support this router

That's unfortunate. I was hoping to use Gargoyle to set quotas by MAC address. If you don't mind me asking, do you know of any other possible solutions?
