TP-Link WR841N V12 - Possible to install V11 firmware?

Hey guys. Quick question. Local supplier only has V12 devices it seems now. Looking at the hardware side of things, they look practically identical. Has anyone managed to successfully install Gargoyle on a WR841N v12? V11 required flashing an unlocked firmware first before I could flash Gargoyle, but it did work.
