I am with a provider that has a data cap...

I would like the ability to allocate a certain amount of data to each device connected to my router on a daily basis, in addition I would like to allocate the bandwith to each device....This will ensure no one device can hog the bandwidth and use up excessive amounts of data....

Right now I'm in a situation where I have used up all the data and have another 12 days to go before they reset the data...

Is Gargoyle the answer to my woes?

If your ISP has data cap, Gargoyle's Quotas feature definitely is the way to go.

This should get you started using/understanding quotas.

After that, take a look at this common scenario.

I think that it answers another question that I have been trying to find out about...which is...

With my isp provider I can only get 5mpbs...maximum
With my iptv set-top box it streams video in HD, I have been trying to find a way to have the set-top box to stream in lower quaility video, thus much lower bandwidth which equals being able to view videos from my set-top box....I have two set-top boxes, Mag254 and Roku....

Can my objective be reached using Gargoyle????

If the streaming box will read a lower bandwidth as a signal to lower its quality (rather than remaining high quality and buffering) then you could use QOS or Quotas (or a combination) to limit the max speed to the device.

I forgot to mention that my Router is TP-Link Archer C60, will this Model work with the latest version of Gargoyle?

I am not sure as to where I can go to, to get this information...

When it comes to the in's and out's of the technical aspects of devices, I don't have a clue...

There is this link on the Mag254, again to me it is all gibberish, maybe this is part of the answer I am trying to find out:

Can the Mag254 be programmed to use low ratio video rather than High Definition. If so how can this be achieved.
Many people using the Mag254 have limited Bandwidth thus without the ability to stream in Lower Quality Video the use of the Mag254 is restricted...

This can not be done on the side of STB, since it depends on the bitrate of the stream.
As one of the options to use the HLS streams with adaptive bitrate.

Unfortunately, not yet (but it will be supported eventually).

Currently, there's only support for Archer C5/C7 models.
