Not sure how true it is but I heard the next Lede release will be named Openwrt. Will Gargoyle use them? Thanks.

Yes mate LEDE will become OpenWRT. Gargoyle will still build on OpenWRT 15.1 I have bin asking for a moov to the LEDE or what will be the nnew OpenWRT for a wile now and it looks like we are staying in the old days! It's not safe to use Gargoyle any more. I dont cair if you ban me for this but it's true. A old ver of openssl, a outdated kernel. The packages havent bin updated since 2015. :-(

Yes, Gargoyle will move to "LEDE".
It isn't a trivial task.
A new dev branch was started for this purpose.
Unsafe is a strong term. I can't think of any CVEs that were particularly troublesome.

@Lantis
In your sig you list builds by ispyisail. I have a wrt3200 and Gargoyle builds for it have wireless driver issues. Am wondering if these are based on LEDE with latest drivers?

That's too bad. Latest wireless drivers work very well on my wrt3200 running LEDE. Really like some of the features of Gargoyle, but not the issues with the older wireless drivers.

I’ve never had an issue with the driver version that we use in Gargoyle.
YMMV, but for the average use it works fine.
