Best setup moving to an Unbridged connection

My setup is currently using Gargoyle on a separate IP range bridged to the modem with Gargoyle handling the chap auth via PPPoE etc.

My area has just switched on a Fibre to the Node VDSL (aka NBN). All authentication is handled via IPoE which Gargoyle doesn't support.

Since the modem handles the connection I'm assuming that the best way to set this up would be make Gargoyle Router on a separate Private network block and in the modem put the DMZ as Gargoyles IP so that it is unconstrained and has no Double NAT issues?

Correct.
This is how I operate my FTTN at home.

It is also currently the only way to get a phone line out of your modem

Sweet, thanks Lantis.

The setup is working and I'm able to browse, Sagem F@ST 5355TLS connected via DHCP to the Netgear WNDR3700v4 (Gargoyle v1.9.2).

I'm having some issues with obtaining the WAN MAC Address to put in the DMZ though, each time I reboot Gargoyle it changes on the Statistics page?

Assuming that the value there isn't the local Ethernet MAC for the WAN? Can I obtain it from the GUI or do I locate via ifconfig?

It gets randomised on some devices.
You could set it static in the connection basic page?
