IP Address issues

So i purchased a TP Archer C7 router and installed Gargoyle 1.9.1. about 2 weeks ago.
I setup the QOS (download), DHCP IP reservations, Quotas for kids and restrictions etc..
for past 2 weeks, it has been working great.
Oh my default gateway was set to 192.168.1.1
Yesterday, my son can't get on network/internet with Iphone. I check and it appears his IP address is not the one i have in the DHCP reservations but 192.168.0.85 or something, instead of the 192.168.1.122 i have in DHCP.
I then notice my anroid phone is similar. I cannot connect to network/internet and the ip address on phone is 192.168.0.94 when in router, i have 192.168.1.203
Then all devices seem to lose connections and all have ip addresses on either Wifi Adapter or Ethernet Adapter(laptops) of 192.168.0.X.
Again the default gateway is set to 192.168.1.1
Anyhow. After fiddiling around and not being able to get correct IP address', i change the default gateway on router to 192.168.0.1.
Now everything is connected again, but quota tracking is all lost etc....
Why would this happen? I tried then setting back to 192.168.1.1 and again would not work.
