Router recommendation 2017

I'm searching for a good and low budget router to run this image with TOR for my restaurant.
After searching in this forum I have no clue which one to buy because the produncts are no longer available or in a different version available which is not (yet) supported.
E.g. often mentioned (enough cpu power, USB support) TL-WR1043ND is about 40$ but you can only but it in V4, support is up to V3 (and image-files are available until V3). V4 has a different CPU.
Can anyone give me a recommendation for a router which supports TOR package?
Thank you!

TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 is pretty high budget.
and
WARNING 1: Current firmware (1.9.0 and earlier) has been reported to brick recent models of Archer C7 v2 (Early 2016 and later)

To get any kind of decent speed through TOR you're going to want a mid-high end router.
Money = performance like in most things.

I don't care about speed it's just for a few customers of my restaurant.
C7 v2 - there is another thread where C7 v3 is mentioned. So if I buy this one, I probably get the wrong version aswell.

You will be dis-pointed with anything lower
4MB routers randomly crash and just stop working
if you want to use a low spec machine use an old firmware
1.6.2 or even older for a really old router
Be warned older Gargoyle firmware have unstable wifi. I think its related to wifi density. I never had a problem but others did.

Ok, thanks for pointing that out.
Last question back to TL-WR1043ND (which has 16MB and 750MHz CPU which should be equal or even better speed compared to Gargoyle Router and most bang for a buck)
Is there a way to install Gargoyle on V4?
https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1043nd
I mean a generic image exists at
https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots ... actory.bin
so it should be possible to install Gargoyle aswell?
