TP-Link Archer C7 v2 : Unable to connect/use except through Telnet recovery mode

Hi,

I hope someone can help me to get this working. Situation so far:
- Bought a new TP-Link Archer V2 router in Australia and installed gargoyle_1.8.1-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory.bin via the TP-Link firmware upgrade menu
- The install said it completed 100% but numerous attempts to connect to 192.168.1.1 in the browser fail, even after power cycling the router
- ping/telnet/ssh 192.168.1.1 fail to make any connection

I then went through the failsafe_recovery_options found here https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/do ... e_recovery

- The telnet option worked and I was able to connect to the router and run firstboot
- After restarting the router, I am still unable to connect through the browser
- The only way I can connect to the router is via the telnet recovery option. If I just leave the router to start on it's own, I can't connect in any way
- Whilst the router is in Telnet recovery mode, I have tried to flash a new rom (1.9.1) with TFTP (from my mac), but this also fails to connect. I suspect that the correct port is not open

Any suggestions for what I can try now?
- I have the 1.9.1 bin file on a USB. I wondered if I could mount this as a drive (directly from the router) and install from there?

Any help would be much appreciated

I am able to "wget" from the router to my mac, so I could copy over the 1.9.1.bin file this way.

Question : Where would I put the .bin on the router and would this work?

Yes, I've tried the TFTP method. It just times out.

Is mtd an option ?
