Yes indeed QoS makes a difference for ping spikes, but not as much as i had hoped. With no QoS my ping will stay high until the wan becomes less saturated.

With QoS on it will spike only, but still frequent enough to get me kicked from servers that only give you 3 strikes and gg its a kick. No QoS it can go up to 400-600 and stay up there. With QoS it spikes to 200-400.

It settles down quick on the gargoyle router page where ACC is, but in-game it feels like it hangs up there more.

There is a way i can push my download speed a bit further to 4mbps, but thats at a massive cost in stability. Being 4km in cable length from my exchange i have to stick with the standard/stability profiles. Or dropout 5 times a day. I do believe Internode (my isp) does a great job in keeping me stable but 4km cable length is just the limits that no isp can fix.

With that being said i appreciate your help and everyone else here. I think im just screwed until nbn arrives, if it ever does...

Fixed Wireless NBN arrived at my place last month and it is great :-D hang in there!
Before that I was on 3G which was just workable (not that I am a gamer)
