No those two configs are not compatible, you need to set up from scratch for such a large version jump.
To fix the browser I would normally suggest a “hard refresh” e.g. Ctrl+F5. This is the less nuclear option compared to a full browser cache clear, but you might need to do it on several pages (in particular the Connection Basic page).
Attempt to connect to the upstream router, wait 60 seconds and then run a “logread” command on the router to see if anything indicates why it is not connecting.
Just to remind you how to configure the bridge, the Bridge IP must be outside the upstream routers subnet. So if upstream is 192.168.1.x (example) you might choose 192.168.2.1.
On successful connection, the router is now accessible at the IP that the upstream router assigns, in the 192.168.1.x subnet, e.g. 192.168.1.100. The device you are using to configure it will also acquire an IP in this range, but may require you to bounce the connection (unplug/plug Ethernet) to trigger a DHCP renew.
IF connection is not successful, you can set your IP on your device manually to 192.168.2.10 (inside the bridge IP subnet) and then navigate to 192.168.2.1 and attempt to recover the device (and/or read the logs).
