I can not manual uninstall Version: 20150909-1.0.4, because I can not disable the plugin, because the checkbox is not active.
My Gargoyle Version:1.9.0
Model:TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v1
Any idea how I can achieve this?
Thank you.
The checkbox you need to disable is on the adblock page not the plugins page. Sorry this was unclear I will fix the instructions.

I have just installed the plugin (Version: 20151229-1.1.0 on a WNDR3800 running 1.90) but I don't think it is working. I have ticked the enable button on the gargoyle screen and updated the block list (and if I do a search on doubleclick it comes up with about 164 entries) but when I navigate to the test site with Microsoft edge the ads are still there.
When I log on to the router I cannot see an /etc/block.hosts file and etc/dmasq.conf does not seem to have anything except comments in it.
Not sure quite what I have done wrong - any help appreciated.

Disabled and then re-enabled and that seems to have gotten it working. Took a log read - see attached. Not sure it will help now that its working

Could someone tell me how I can install 1.04 of this, on my 1.8.1 router?
I thought I had the latest, but then I encountered the DDNS bug where it was setting my domain name to 127.0.0.1 and after digging through these forums I realised this was because I had installed 1.0.1 of the ad plugin.
The problem is, this is the one that shows up from the gargoyle plugin source - not the 1.04 that it says should show up in the first post of this thread.
EDIT : I worked out how to install 1.04 by using this as the source:
http://lantisproject.com/gargoyle_plugi ... n%201.0.4/
However, although it iwas listed as installed in the plugins section, there was no Adblock option under firewall.
I then uninstalled 1.04, removed the above plugin source and then reinstalled 1.01. This worked, the Adblock option returned.
Not sure if it's related but before I had read this thread properly I attempted to install 1.1.0 before reading that it wasn't compatible with 1.8.1 so I uninstalled it. Might that have caused me a problem. Still, after that I was able to reinstall 1.0.1 so......?

Hi,
You can install up to version 1.0.3 on gargoyle 1.8.1.
1.0.4 requires Gargoyle 1.9.0 and above. Technically they are backwards compatible, and hence why it let you install, but I've never had someone report success.
My suggestion
If 1.0.3 will install correctly for you, use that.
If not stick with 1.0.1.
On either of those versions, to fix the issue you're having (and basically make yours version 1.0.4):
add
www.tracemyip.org to the file at /etc/white.list
Then update the blacklist through the GUI and you should be fine.
Let me know if this was unclear.
Cheers
